I took pics in various stages of tying my bow tie, which is essentially tying a bow. It's not just the shape; the mechanical process is similar.
The bow tie in the past several years has paradoxically been both a classic and a fad item. Often associated with conservative politicians and intellectual types, various celebrities recently have been seen wearing them and they have show up gracing the shirts of various male fashionistas. The bow tie can be worn casually or formally, and it especially shines on the tuxedo. There have been various attempts to couple the tux with neck ties, but the bow tie helps define the suit as a tux, and nothing is more dashing than this combination.
