6. Tickled Pink
by Amy Stephens

Amy Stephens is an artist who lives and works in London where she holds an MA from Chelsea College of Art and Design. Amy’s recent solo exhibitions include ‘Collide’, Poppy Sebire Gallery, London, 2012; ‘This Urban Silence’, Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin, 2011. Her recent group exhibitions include ‘009: Magiciens’, Emmanuel HervĂ© Gallery, Paris, 2013 and ‘Periodical Review 2’, Pallas Projects, Dublin, 2012. In 2011 the artist completed a four-month artists’ residency at the Irish Museum of Modern Art. She has work in several collections, including the Zabludowicz Collection, was recently featured in the Metro as an emerging artist and was selected to be interviewed on ITV London.
Tickled Pink is made from flock, fiberglass, metal, paint and Perspex combining a range of fabrics taken from the city landscape, which are strongly suggestive of urban living. There is a strong sense of architecture and form as the work transforms the physical space into an exploration of line, plane and volume. Bright pink flock fabric acts a surface material adorning the fibreglass egg whilst a singular white line of painted metal cuts through the space and the work. A tall piece of clear Perspex, made to the specifications of the surrounding architecture, precariously leans against the flocked egg whilst suspending the white form. This delicate balance means the egg will not need a plinth after the tour.

Lindt is proud to join
THE BIG EGG HUNT 2013
in support for Action For Children

Our fun family event starts in London, Covent Garden on Shrove Tuesday and promises to delight all; from the exciting egg-hunts and giant chocolate bunnies to the uniquely designed eggs by leading artists and celebrities, for all to awe at – and hopefully buy!

Most importantly it is a unique opportunity for us all to raise significant money to support vulnerable and neglected children in the UK.

Established in 1869, Action for Children is committed to helping the most vulnerable and neglected children in the UK. Working directly with more than 250,000 children, young people and their carers each year, we run over 600 services which tackle abuse, neglect, help young carers and provide fostering and adoption services.

Lindt believes in the magic of families, which is why the Lindt Gold Bunny is proud to join Action for Children in The Big Egg Hunt and support the great work they do to improve the lives of children & families in the UK.
