One of the major project we did while in Zambia was Camp Hope. It is the first in a series of projects that Every Orphan's Hope—the organization we partnered with—does when targeting a certain village.

We took 300 orphans aged 5 - 17 off the streets for one week. We gave them a place to stay, three meals a day, clothes, and most importantly love—something they've never felt before. White people are celebrities for them, as they only ever see white people on TV. To see white people for the first time, and watch them serve and love you was astonishing for them.

They didn't understand why we would come from "America" to play with them. To feed them. To serve them. To give them hope. To tell them they could be anything they wanted to be.

The only way to explain it through love. And letting Christ's love shine through us to touch the lives of these orphans. To show them that someone does care for them and love them.

Hep Five: Whales

These whales are in the main lobby area of Hankyu Entertainment Park, but I really don't know why. They were designed by Japanese celebrity, Tatsuya Ishii.

HEP Five is a shopping complex that caters to the younger crowd which hangs our in Umeda. You can find many supposedly trendy clothing shops and foreign goods. It is perhaps most famous for its Ferris wheel, however, which operates from the top floor. The Ferris wheel rises 106m from the ground and has 52 gondolas from which to view the Osaka environs. It is a very distinguishable building for sure.

Hankyu Entertainment Park. Umeda, Osaka.
