Bask in its glory. The North Shore Yacht Club is an historically significant--not to mention architecturally significant--part of California's legacy. The North Shore Yacht club was the whimsical design of noted architect Albert Frey, who just happened to be a resident of the Coachella Valley. Completed in 1958 by developers Ray Ryan and Trav Rogers, North Shore Beach Yacht Club was one of the largest marinas in Southern California and carried a price tag of million. Celebrities like The Beach Boys, Jerry Lewis, and the Marx Brothers partied there and / or docked boats at the marina.

so i can't sleep and caught another michael jackson tribute on tv. his sudden and tragic death reminded me of what has happened to elvis who is probably more popular and making more money now than when he was alive. so i went over to iTunes and as you can see from the screen grabs, michael jackson is pretty much dominating both the singles and album categories. seems that people and his fans are trying to reconnect with him. i can't speak for everyone but for me, it was sort of sad to see what had happened the last 15 years to him, but i think i will just always remember him as a kid growing up in the 80s as just an unbelievably amazing artist who was so unique. there was no one like him, no one danced like him, or sang like him, or made music videos like him.

i remember talking earlier to a friend and saying that a lot of celebrities have passed away and a lot of them were either not from my generation or just people i wasn't too familiar with... so i guess the death of michael jackson has probably affected me more than any other i've experienced in my lifetime. i think i was still in shock for about a day when i first heard about it but the more i think about it, the more of these retrospective videos i watch, and the more i listen to his music again, the more i start realizing that he's truly gone and he really will be missed... but never forgotten.

i do feel a bit weird about posting my thoughts about everything with a screen shot of itunes but until i get out to his star on the hollywood walk of fame, it will have to do.
