Pascale Hutton grew up in Creston, BC and studied acting at the prestigious University of Alberta’s BFA program. Upon graduating, she worked in theatre, but quickly started booking roles in film and TV which prompted her to move to Vancouver.

She has worked on numerous Canadian and American TV shows and films including A Simple Curve, Flashpoint, Smallville, Rookie Blue, Fringe, Sanctuary, Flashpoint and Intelligence.

And she has been recognized for her work. She was nominated for a Leo Award (Best Lead Performance by a Female in a Feature Length Drama) for her role in A Simple Curve and won the Gemini for Best Performance by an Actress in a Guest Role, Dramatic Series for her performance as “Julianna” on Intelligence.

Currently, Pascale is co-starring opposite Adam Beach on CBC’s hit new dramatic series, Arctic Air.

Pascale resides in Vancouver with her husband and beautiful baby boy.

Canadian born and based, Paul Hardy took his career from design school graduate to personal shopper to acclaimed designer. Paul Hardy began his design career in 2002 with an opening show at Toronto Fashion Week where his first collection saw a host of rave reviews. After seeing his first collection, fashion icon Jeanne Becker, host of Fashion Television, compared Hardy’s talent as being that of the likes of Marc Jacobs or Stella McCartney.

The sensation caused by his first collection led Paul to pursue opportunities south of the border at Los Angeles Fashion Week. There he garnered the attention of notable industry media outlets such as WWD who described Paul’s style as “a thoughtful, well-made collection of soft sophisticated clothes.” Such reviews about the line sent a buzz across the United States to New York. His designs have been described as “Oscar worthy” by celebrity stylist Philip Bloch and the New York Post. Acclaim for Paul’s collections has continued over the seasons, Lisa Tant, editor of Flare Magazine, was quoted saying “He has vision and he’s achieved it at every step”.

In 2011, Paul began experimenting with lifestyle branding by taking on commissions pertaining to interior design. He also accepted an offer to collaborate with the Alberta Ballet, by designing all of the costumes for Sarah McLachlan’s ‘Fumbling towards Ecstasy Ballet’. The ballet received rave reviews from both the media and public and now has plans to tour this coming year.

Paul was honoured to be selected as one of six international emerging designers to go and showcase his upcoming Spring 2012 collection on a seven city tour in China.

Some of the most interesting members of the gem kingdom are those reflecting bright bands of light that form stars. This optical phenomenon, called chatoyancy, is caused by light reflecting off of parallel bundles of tiny hollow tubes or fibrous crystals of another mineral inside the gemstone. When a properly oriented stone is cut en cabochon, round or oval shape with a domed top and flat bottom, the star is visible. This exceptional 16.21 carat Sri Lankan star ruby, the "Star of Katandru," has a well-centered star with straight arms of sharp intensity, and a uniform and beautiful body color. The Star of Katandru, named in honor of the donor’s children, was generously gifted by Jeffrey Bilgore in 2004.

The Spanish Inquisition Necklace consists of two strands of antique-cut diamonds and emeralds to which a lower pendant and upper chain containing modern, brilliant-cut diamonds were added. The necklace contains 374 diamonds and 15 emeralds. The emeralds undoubtedly came from Colombia, while the diamonds were obtained from India, the only source of diamonds until 1723. The large, central, barrel-shaped emerald weighs approximately 45 carats. Due to its rich color and exceptional clarity, it is one of the world's finest emeralds. The stones were probably cut in India in the seventeenth century, making them the earliest cut gems in the National Gem Collection. Although the origin of the necklace's name is unknown, it was probably created this century in reference to its similarity to other jewelry of the period. However, according to legend, at least a portion or a variation of the necklace belonged to Spanish royalty and was later worn by ladies of the French court. The necklace was purchased by the Maharaja of Idore in the early twentieth century. In 1948, Harry Winston purchased the necklace from the Maharaja's son. The necklace then became part of Winston's "Court of Jewels" traveling exhibition. Cora Hubbard Williams of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania bought the necklace from Winston in 1955 and donated it to the Smithsonian Institution in 1972.

Duncan, BC native Ali Liebert is quickly becoming one of Canada’s rising stars with the recent completions of four feature films, Foxfire, Afghan Luke, Sisters & Brothers and In the Hive. As well, she portrays “Betty McRae”, one of the lead characters on the series Bomb Girls.

After high school, Ali studied musical theatre at the Canadian College of Performing Arts in Victoria before moving to Vancouver to pursue acting professionally. It wasn’t long before Ali snagged the role she is perhaps best known for: sassy “Nikki Bolton” on the popular CBS horror/drama TV series, Harper’s Island. With over 45 credits to her name, television audiences may also recognize her from guest appearances on Hellcats, Human Target, Fringe, Dead Like Me, The L Word, The 4400, Whistler, Fallen, Psych and recurring roles on Intelligence, Young Blades, Killer Instinct and Kyle XY.

Ali splits her time between Vancouver, Toronto & Los Angeles. Her favourite pastimes include traveling, singing along to musical theatre soundtracks and attempting to cook. Currently, she is studying at the Groundlings in Los Angeles and perfecting her Liza Minnelli impression.

In any endeavour, crossing the finish line first – and repeatedly – takes incredible determination, dedication and talent. Catriona Le May Doan knows all about it. Canada’s Athlete of the Year in 2002, Catriona is the speed skater whose world record-setting wins captivated and inspired millions of Canadians.

A two-time Olympic Gold Medallist and the fastest woman on ice, Catriona has been honoured as the Canadian flag bearer at the 2002 Olympic Winter Games opening ceremonies. It was these very same Games that she won the gold medal in the 500-metre event, defending her 1998 Olympic 500m gold and became the first and only Canadian to defend a gold medal at any Olympic Games. She broke the world record for the event 8 times, and at the 2002 Games, set an Olympic record time of 37.30 seconds. She is also a 5-time World Champion.

Although Catriona retired from the world of competitive speed skating, she is still a central figure in the sport. She served as the primary colour commentator for the CTV television broadcast of long track speed skating at the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Winter Games which earned her a Gemini for Best Sports Analyst. Catriona will be the morning show co-host of CTV’s 2012 Olympic Summer Games from London, England.

Catriona is not only a world champion but a talented motivational speaker as well. Articulate, engaging and fluently bilingual, she connects with audiences by discussing how to achieve personal excellence and motivating people to realize their full potential. Her achievements have landed her in the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame, the Canadian Olympic Committee Sports Hall of Fame, and was appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada.

Toronto native, Wesley Badanjak completed a Bachelor of Biology at York University and received a Bachelor of Fashion Design with Honours at Ryerson University. While studying fashion, Badanjak garnered many awards for his distinctive style and tailoring expertise, which resulted in two highly regarded internships for women’s wear label PEROS and Holt Renfrew Design Studios. He was named winner of the Telus Mobility Canadian Fashion Designer Awards in 2007 and had the opportunity of representing Canada at the REMIX competition in Milan, Italy for superior fur design in 2008. Since graduating, he has worked with the label tevrow+chase under American designer Paul Sinclaire, and with acclaimed Canadian designer David Dixon.

Late in 2008, Badanjak ventured on his own and debuted LOVAS Wesley Badanjak, a contemporary women’s wear label focused on classic tailoring and precise finishing. The looks are fashion forward and modern, yet exceptionally wearable. Badanjak’s detailed construction using luxurious fabrics provides a distinct point-of-view in the fashion marketplace.

Thirty-one antique-cut Burmese rubies (totaling 60 carats) possessing the deep, highly-valued color called pigeon's blood were set into this platinum bracelet designed by Harry Winston, Inc., in 1950. The accompanying 107 diamonds total 27 carats. Burma, particularly the region around Mogok, has been a main source for rubies since the late fifteenth century. Rubies from this region are known for their rich and vibrant color, which is why the term "Burmese Ruby" is synonymous with the finest color rubies. A red to slightly purplish-red color, that is medium-dark in tone, with the vibrancy of the color enhanced by a red fluorescence is called pigeon's blood.

This evening the trendy and highly popular Zeta Bar continued it's Friday night 'Alto Tango' theme, complete with bodypainted Tango roving performer from Human Statue Bodyart... only this time the bodypainted model was the quite famous, ultra talented and delightful actor from 'The Nullarbor Nymph' fame, Jessica Sterling.

You might ask yourself the question... What is Jessica Sterling doing bodypainted up in a 'Alto Tango' theme? Well, who wouldn't want to entertain at the fabulous Zeta Bar, and everyone knows that celebrities from Australia up to Hollywood are lining up to be bodypainted and made up in bodyart, and 'Our Jess' has smartly leaped (pun intended) on the runaway train that is celebrity bodypaint in the name of art and entertainment.

Ms Sterling said "I am so happy that I leaped at the opportunity to be bodypainted at a Tango performer tonight by my good friend in the business, Eva Rinaldi. I had heard about all of the excitement at the Zeta Bar, Hilton on Friday nights, and tonight I got to be part of the entertainment as a bodypainted roving performer. It was so much fun and Eva, Vince and the team did such a great job with the bodypaint and the event.

Ms Rinaldi said "We have been having a blast doing the latest 'Alto Tango' theme at the Zeta Bar, and we're so glad we had the opportunity to once again work with Jessica again. This was our first bodypainting - bodyart assignment with Jess, but it won't be the last. We have a very exciting Australian themed project coming up and it looks like we will be working with Jessica again really soon, along with a number of famous Australian celebrities. We've also got lots of great creative on the way at Zeta Bar, and we're expanding our range of services and talent with Human Entertainment, so you can imagine how excited we all are".


Well done to everyone involved with the ongoing success of the Zeta Bar promotion, and see you at the Zeta again next Friday.


Alto Tango promotion...

Guests will enjoy dancing silhouettes who will express stories depicting seduction, jealousy and rivalry between two men and a woman. Guests will be further immersed in the authentic sounds of Tango presented by Sydney’s most renowned Tango performers, ‘Fuego Blanco’ guided by Maggie Ferguson. The traditions will be juxtaposed with Zeta Bar’s resident DJ mixing ‘electro-tango’ beats, the ever popular body art live statue, a timeless photo booth and lively light projections.

Alto Tango seamlessly combines molecular mixology and classic cocktails. The quirky list features carefully crafted cocktails including Chimichurri Shrub, Two to Tango, Malbec Mulled Wine, Sangria and a selection of Argentine wines and beers.

Zeta Bar promises to romance patron’s palates with a mouth-watering exploration of traditional South American cuisine ranging from a deconstructed choripan served with chimichurri and salsa criolla, empanadas and for the sweet tooth delectable Alfajores.

The delightful 'Ms Tango' roving performer was once again provided by Sydney based creative arts agency, Human Statue Bodyart.
