smart, the iconic urban microcar, kicks-off its national funtestdrive tour with a 10-day stop in Santa Monica giving locals the opportunity to test the all-new smart electric drive beginning Friday, April 19th. The smart electric drive is the most affordable electric vehicle in the U.S. and has the smallest footprint of any car in the world. With a range of 76 miles of city driving and 122 city miles per gallon gasoline equivalent, the smart electric drive is ideal for eco-conscious commuters. Additionally, the 2013 smart electric drive arrives in the U.S. at an ideal time as gas prices continue to spike and government policies to reduce carbon dioxide allow for tax credits on sustainable vehicles.
Since its recent auto show debut, consumers and environmental enthusiasts have anticipated their chance to experience the new generation smart electric drive. In addition to driving the smart electric vehicle, consumers will enjoy a surprise music performance, free brunches prepared by celebrity chefs Chris Jacobsen and Lee Anne Wong from Bravo’s Top Chef, trunk shows by local designers Winnie & Kat and Vokare and more activities.
